Generic Requirements

5 or more years professional experience in design, development, integration, testing, and debugging of Web-based presentation layer components using either the Windows or Java platforms. 2 or more years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging Web-based presentation layer components using the Microsoft .NET platform.

Specific Requirements

  • Technical skills C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, SharePoint Web parts. Experience with Java Enterprise Edition, JSR-168, and WSRP is desirable but not required.
  • Education BS in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • Certification(s) Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) - ASP.NET Developer certification is desirable, but not required.
  • Methodologies Experience working on small teams (5-7 developers) under agile methods (such as Scrum, XP, or MSF for Agile Software Development) is strongly preferred.
  • Domain experience: Basic familiarity with land warfare doctrine, organization, and systems in the US Army and/or Marine Corps at the brigade/regiment level and above is desirable.
  • Security clearance level Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense SECRET (or higher) security eligibility.
  • Travel expectations 10%

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of a Project Manager and under the technical supervision of a Solutions Architect, the Web presentation developer will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and debugging Web parts for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007. The developer will effectively utilize ASP.NET AJAX and other technologies to deliver a rich browser-based user experience designed in collaboration with a User Experience (UX) specialist. Some stand-alone ASP.NET pages may also be developed and the presentation layer components will call Web services (based on both the .NET and Java platforms) as part of Joint and Service-specific service-oriented architectures.

Other Factors

The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to apply established user experience standards, practices, and guidelines (both organization-specific and industry best practices) in the development of presentation layer components.
